R.C. Komotini, is under the preparation of a big 600 Km ride. Either by car or motorcycle, the “ 1st Ride for Polio+” action will take place in October 24th, 2014.
Starting from Komotini’s Sward, a 2nd World War monument located in the city center, our club will make a half an hour rest.
Next stop will be the Central town square and the clock tower in Xanthi where we will meet the local R.C. of Xanthi.
Through the Ε90/Α2, we will meet with the West Kavala’s R.C, Thassos R.C East Kavala’s R.C, R.C. Chrysoupolis, R.C Kavala-Neapolis infront of the city’s football stadium. All together,we will head to the West exit of the city of Kavala, where a small kiosk will be built by the R.C. Kavala, providing us with cold beverages and the Rotarians will be fundraising and informing other drivers for the Rotary’s Polio+ action.
Next stop Drama and the local club of Drama. Our fellow Rotarians will be waiting for us in front of the Statue of Liberty on the main square.
Leaving Drama, we have to visit one of the most famous archeological places in Greece, nowadays. Amphipolis tomb is the following stop on the route.
The convoy will meet with many Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Thessaloniki and nearby cities, at the White Tower and the Statue of Alexander the Great. Our journey-action will finish the ride in the area of Thermi – Thessaloniki, where the Rotary Club Of Kalamaria – Thessaloniki will illuminate the hi-tech building of «Noesis» (Culture and Scientific Foundation) with a huge scale »End Polio Now»!
